Mizuno Northern Lights National Qualifier
18 American Division Bid Trickle-Down Possibilities
(As of 1-25-21, subject to update as additional teams qualify before the NLQ)
There is one previously Qualified team in the NLQ 18 American Division.
Impact 18 National
There is 1 bid available in the 18 American Division and it will be awarded to the team that finishes 1st unless that team is Impact 18 National. If that team accepts the bid, there will be no 3rd/4th place match played and both teams will be awarded a 3rd place finish and medals.
If the 1st place team has declined the bid (as indicated on their registration roster) or the first place team is Impact 18 National, then the 2nd place team will be awarded the bid. If the 2nd place team accepts the bid, there will be no 3rd/4th place match played and both teams will be awarded a 3rd place finish and medals.
If both the 1st & 2nd place teams declined the bid (as indicated on their registration roster), then the 3rd/4th place match will be played with the winner receiving the bid and third place medals. If one of teams playing in the 3rd place match has declined the bid (as indicated on their registration roster) or is Impact 18 National, the bid will be awarded to the remaining team, the 3rd place match will not be played, and both teams will finish 3rd and be awarded medals.
The lowest a bid may trickle down to is 8th place at the NLQ American Division.
If a team declines a bid, that bid will trickle down to the next highest finisher but not lower than 8th place.
A team may decline a bid, by indicating so on their official roster, which was submitted at Check In, without penalty. A team which submitted an official roster that shows they are accepting a bid, and then leaves the Qualifier and has not signed the bid acceptance sheet after winning a bid will be deemed to be in violation of the USAV rules concerning bid acceptance/rejection and will be subject to sanctions as defined in the Qualifier manual.
Bids won in Regional Qualifiers do affect the trickle-down process in the American division.
If a team double Qualifies, meaning they have won the same level bid or a higher-level bid in a previous National Qualifier, their bid at the NLQ will trickle down to the next highest finisher but not lower than 8th place.
If a team that has previously won an American Division Bid at a Regional Competition wins an American Division Bid either in competition or through trickle down at the NLQ, must accept American Division Bid from the NLQ.
A team that wins an American Bid either in competition or through trickle down in the NLQ and has previously accepted a bid in the National Division from their Regional Bid Tournament may not accept the American Bid from the NLQ. The bid will trickle down to the next highest finisher, but no lower than 8th.
Teams which place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd are required to report to the Championship Desk area with their entire team to receive their awards and sign for acceptance of any appropriate bids.
